2004-07-16 - 1:01 p.m. - attorney office visit and almost B's

I went to see my attorney yesterday. She just became my attorney as I never had need for one before, and my friends recommended her to me to draw up a will and medical directive. Given I now own a home, I figured I really should have one, and since I’ll be gone for a year or two, now’s the time to do it.

I’ve never been in an attorney’s office before. In fact, I’ve only been in a courtroom once or twice, and I was a spectator rather than a juror. It was back in the early ‘80’s for the trial of Claus Von Bulow. He was accused of attempting to kill his wife, Sunny, who was worth millions. Instead she ended up in a diabetic coma due to an overdose of insulin. It was something like that – I guess I could rewatch "Reversal of Fortune" (Jeremy Irons is Claus in the movie) to review the details (as Hollywood presented them). A family friend was one of Claus’s attorneys and invited me to watch. It was actually the appeal trial, because Von Bulow had been found guilty initially, appealed to the state supreme court, and had that trial in Providence, RI as opposed to Newport where the initial trail was held. During the time I was there they were presenting the medical evidence, but I found it interesting nonetheless. The trial was getting a lot of press, so it was pretty exciting to just be there and see what was going on. And if I remember correctly, it’s a very nice courthouse building. I do love the architecture there. %%diary-seastreet%% would know what I’m talking about. :)

Yesterday’s visit was very nice as we discovered we had some mutual friends and after talking business, we shot the breeze for a while. I’ll get a copy of the draft and then will go back to sign it on August 4th.

On my way home I stopped by some outlet stores which were near my attorney’s office. As I’ve said before, I’m not much of a shopper, but I really need some things for my trip. I ended up getting a pair of sneakers at the Adidas outlet, some tops at The Gap outlet and a bra at the Playtex/whatever outlet. I found out yesterday that Playtex makes in-between size bras – "almost B", almost C, etc.. The woman helping me brought some different styles to my fitting room and gave me a couple of "almost B" bras. I was very excited to think perhaps I’m "almost B"!! It’s the only time I don’t want A’s – I worked hard for A’s in school, but in this case, I would love to be a B. Even a C, but that’s beyond my wildest dreams. Oh, to be a B – "I must, I must, I must increase my bust"! I actually tried on a light tan-colored, strapless Wonderbra, and when I made my eyes go blurry and looked in the mirror, I could see what I’d look like with more of a bust. I liked it, but not enough to run to the plastic surgeon for implants.

Disappointingly, when I tried on the "almost B" sizes, they just didn’t fit as well as the pure A’s. Ugh… But, c’est la vie – at least I won’t be droopy when I’m old because there ain’t much to droop!

Well, that was probably more than anyone needed to know, so I’ll just end here.
