2003-08-06 - 12:12 p.m. - the perfect Dandy Warhols accompaniment

i was out watering my lily garden today and had just filled up the bird bath which had been dry for a couple of days. the birds had seen me and were already lining up in trees, on my roof, and on telephone poles. normally they wait until i'm out of the area a bit before swooping in for a dip; however, today, as i stood less than 10 feet from the bath and continued my watering while listening to the Dandy Warhol's "Be-In" (from their second album) on my headphones, the birds started flying in - two and three at a time. In and out they flew - all while "Be-In" was over 5 min. in at the part where the guitars are in a frenzy..."only, only, only, only....." the birds dipped, ruffled, flew in, flew out..."only, only, only, only..." i stood there watching and listening - totally mezmerized...it was nothing short of perfect.
